The department is a dynamic and modern thinking area, which offers students a curriculum that allows them to experience and think about the world of work around them. They utilise a wide range of teaching and learning techniques, which allow students to develop both their independence and team working skills.
A large proportion of students work will be based upon the application of the key specification requirements of communications, business ownership, human resources, business finance, marketing and operations to both small and large business operations.
The department is in the process of broadening the teaching styles that students will be experiencing as part of the curriculum, with the introduction of more school trips and guest speakers. The idea is to engage learners and broaden their horizons.
Away from the classroom, the department is responsible for enterprise education across the curriculum. Students experience a variety of enterprise based challenges which are both engaging and challenging.
