Congratulations to our Year 10 and Year 11 students who attended the Duke of Edinburgh Award presentation evening on Wednesday 21st March 2018 and received their bronze and silver awards. We know how hard our students work towards their Duke of Edinburgh Award and we are extremely proud of all them.
Year 10 students who received their bronze award:
Aimee, Eve, Jake, Emily, Niamh, Charlie, Tom, Alex, Katie, Anthony, Sam, Danyaal, Benjamin, Zac, Sam, Ethan and Michael.
Our bronze award students had four sections to complete. They had to do three months of volunteering, a physical activity and a skill. After all of this they then had to complete a two day (one night) expedition. The expedition really tested them to use their navigation and teamwork skills along with camping and cooking for themselves. Our students have done incredibly well to complete their bronze award.
Year 11 students who received their silver award:
Molly, Jonah, Oliver and Olwen.
For our students who had already completed their bronze award they moved onto their silver award. Our silver award students also had four sections to complete. Six months of volunteering, a physical activity, a skill and a three day (two night) expedition. The silver award was a lot tougher for our students than the bronze however they managed to complete it and enjoy it on the way.
Our students hope to carry on with their awards next year and eventually want to achieve their gold Duke of Edinburgh Award.
