Uniform is compulsory for all students.

All students should wear plain black, leather or imitation leather shoes. Trainers, backless shoes, open toed sandals, boots or fabric shoes are not acceptable.
Shoes made by sportswear manufacturers are deemed to be trainers. Shoes that go up to the ankle are deemed to be boots. Shoes should not have metal decoration, labels or coloured embroidery or coloured laces.
Make up is not acceptable. If worn, you will be asked to remove it. We do not allow nail varnish, false nails or nail extensions. Fake eyelashes and eyelash extensions are also unacceptable.
Jewellery is limited to a watch and one small stud earring worn in each ear (the lobe only, no other part of the ear). Health and safety requirements mean that other items of jewellery are NOT allowed. Students will be asked to remove unauthorised jewellery when necessary. We do not allow piercing in lips, noses or eyebrows.
The school will temporarily confiscate inappropriate items of jewellery. Parent/carers may be contacted if this becomes an issue. Wardle Academy does not accept any responsibility for the loss of, or damage to valuables.
Please be aware that we do not permit extremes of fashion for student hairstyles or dress. Added hair colours must be natural colours. Vivid colours such as red or purple are not permissible. Close shaved heads and patterns cut into hair or eyebrows are not acceptable. Hair should be cut no shorter than number 2 on the barber’s clippers. Shoulder length or longer hair must be tied back when necessary with a black, green or hair coloured bobble.
We do not allow caps, hair extensions, hair bands, bandannas or colourful hair scarves to be worn.
