Recruitment FAQs

What are the benefits of working at Wardle Academy?

Staff have the benefit of exclusive after-school use to a new fitness gym plus staff only swimming sessions. Social events, free-flu jabs, assistance with personal and legal issues are examples of the work organised by our HR department to support colleagues. The Trust’s leave of absence policy is ‘family orientated’ recognising the importance to parents of events such as final primary school assemblies, or graduation days. For musicians there are many opportunities both to play and to support musical events.

Will I have the opportunity to develop my career?

Wardle Academy likes to encourage all staff to consider development opportunities. For example, over the last few years several associate colleagues have been supported to become both teachers and heads of department. Senior staff have been supported to become deputy headteachers, and in two cases, headteachers, thereby creating additional employment openings within the school.

We work closely with external groups such as the Rochdale Education and Learning (REAL) Trust, the Northern Alliance training network and the Rochdale Pioneer Trust to support and meet the training needs of all colleagues regardless of post.
