The Wardle Way

Personal Development Week – October 2025

Personal Development Week: Exploring, Learning, and Preparing for the Future!

Our students had an action-packed week full of learning and discovery during our recent Aspire Day. Here are some of the activities that took part:

  • Year 7 set off on their Wardle Walk, exploring road and water safety, the importance of wellbeing, British Values, and uncovering the history of their local community.
  • Year 8 dived into personal safety, discovering how to stay safe online and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
  • Year 9 focused on healthy communication and staying safe both online and in the community. Some students also joined exciting workshops led by experts on personal finance and life skills.
  • Year 10 explored the dangers of substance misuse and got a taste of the world beyond school at the Post-16 Careers Fair, meeting representatives from the uniformed services, employers, and colleges.
  • Year 11 concentrated on planning their next steps, from writing personal statements to exploring college courses and post-16 options. With guidance from Positive Steps and our school’s careers team, many learners even submitted their college applications during the day!

It was a fantastic day that helped our students grow, stay safe, and start shaping their futures.
