Overview

The Wardle Academy Drama department encourages active participation in both creative exploration and performance. They strive towards enabling students to achieve their full potential in a variety of situations, using all available resources appropriately, to ensure the highest level of achievement. They focus on developing essential team and communication skills and work towards nurturing creative, independent learners.

Critical appraisal and appreciation of drama is a key aim within the department. This enables students to be familiar with a body of knowledge, principles, skills, techniques and vocabulary related to performance and the world of theatre. Opportunities to participate in extra-curricular Drama are extensive. School productions, links with external providers such as The Oldham Coliseum Theatre, and workshops to support written work are available for all our students.
