Careers

Careers at Wardle Academy

At Wardle Academy, we want every learner to leave us with the knowledge, skills, confidence and ambition they need to take their next steps successfully.

Our careers programme runs from Year 7 to Year 11 and is structured around the eight Gatsby Benchmarks. It gives learners regular opportunities to explore different careers, understand the pathways available to them and make informed decisions about their future.

Learners take part in a wide range of activities including careers lessons, employer encounters, careers fairs, college and university visits, apprenticeship and technical education information, mock interviews, personal careers guidance and work-related experiences.

Careers education is delivered through Personal Development, curriculum subjects, Aspire Days, assemblies, careers events and individual guidance. We also work closely with employers, colleges, universities and training providers to ensure learners understand the full range of opportunities available to them.

Accessing our Careers Programme

Information about our careers programme is available to learners, parents and carers, staff, employers and education or training providers through this website and our Careers Team.

If you are a local business and would like to support our learners, please get in touch! We are always looking for local businesses and employers to come into school, speak to learners about their careers and industries, take part in our annual Careers Fayre, and support our mock interview programme.

Provider Access

Our Provider Access Policy Statement explains how education and training providers can request access to learners and how we meet our statutory responsibilities.
