Curriculum Overview
Like everything at Wardle Academy, our curriculum is deeply learner-centred. We believe the young people in our care deserve an education that fosters lifelong learning, empowering them to make a meaningful contribution to society.
To achieve this, our curriculum is purposefully designed to drive academic success—ensuring learners know more and remember more—while exposing them to a rich, diverse landscape of knowledge. Crucially, this learning journey shapes the daily habits aligned with our Wardle Way principles:
| We care | Work hard | Show manners | Celebrate difference | Take responsibility | Be kind |
Our curriculum reflects the requirements to provide a broad and balanced curriculum as per the National Curriculum programmes of study which we have chosen to follow. It also reflects requirements for inclusion and equality as set out in the Special Educational Needs and Disability Code of Practice 2014 and Equality Act 2010, and refers to curriculum-related expectations of governing boards set out in the Department for Education’s academy trust governance guide.
