Overview
The Music Department aims to develop a lasting curiosity, interest and enjoyment in the Creative and Performing Arts. As such, they offer programmes of study that provide students with opportunities to develop into successful, creative, reflective and active participants.
The department strives to provide each student with all the resources they need to achieve their full potential as learners. They aim to ensure the highest level of achievement through the delivery of a rich portfolio of Music examination qualifications, including GCSE Music, ABRSM grades and Trinity College grades. Significant investment has been made in the Music department to ensure that students are given the opportunity to experience and learn a large range of instruments and musical styles.
In addition to our curriculum success, Wardle Academy boasts an internationally renowned extra-curricular music programme. Students are taught by dedicated professional music tutors on a range of guitar, strings, percussion, brass and woodwind instruments.
Students are encouraged to join one of the various music ensembles to further progress their music studies and team based interaction. Our music groups have received a huge amount of praise for their talents, winning competitions both nationally and internationally.
