The Wardle Way

Virtual Reality

Virtual Reality

Our KS3 students had the opportunity to participate in both coding and Virtual Reality as part of the afterschool Computer Science Coding Club.

Students will be learning the three main concepts of computer programming; Sequence Selection and Iteration by using various resources and devices in the Computer Science Coding Club. Python, HTML and CSS are programming languages which they will have access to to create websites and games, advancing on their understanding of Block Coding by also using Scratch and BBC Microbits. They will use the computers to create red-stone logic gates in games such as Minecraft, collaboratively working towards building a working processor or calculators within the game environment. As well as this, students will also have access to new technologies such as our Oculus Quest 2 headsets and experience the possibilities of VR environments – discussing its potential in education, healthcare, entertainment and beyond.
