Astronomy Club
Our Astronomy Club consists of enthusiastic students in years 8-10 who are all interested in our Universe and what could be ‘out there’. We had our first stargazing session of the year after school on Wednesday using our science telescope to observe Jupiter (unfortunately the Moon was in hiding!).
It was extremely cold and next time we need to bring our flasks of hot drinks, but we had a fantastic time setting up the telescope and using the Night Sky X app to view constellations/map out where other planets would be in the sky. Fingers crossed the next time we look up to the sky the Moon will be there!
Our last 2 sessions will involve modelling the scale of our Solar System and investigating what lies beyond what we can ‘see’.
