BBC Share Your Story
Wardle Academy was host to none other than presenters and journalists from the BBC! To celebrate its milestone of 100 years, the BBC is doing a “Story Telling Event” for this tour, where members of the company to share their life stories, answer questions from students and inspire students.
We were joined by guests Kevin Fitzpatrick (a Senior Journalist Reporter) and Latasha Arnone (a researcher and presenter) for periods 1, 2 and 4, who told us of their own personal tales of how they achieved their careers in the BBC and struggles they have been through in their lives. Towards the end of each periods assembly, chosen learners gave a brief talk on struggles, issues and personal journeys they have gone through. Our students benefitted greatly from hearing these stories about careers, resilience and mental health.
