Celebrating World Book Day 2025!
This week, we have been celebrating all things reading, writing and storytelling for World Book Day 2025!
Students have been taking part in the Great Wardle World Book Day Challenge during form time which included transforming potatoes into book characters, extreme reading and even creating a reading rap.
Josephine won the challenge for her fabulous cake and poster and Pippa for her amazing potato transformation.
World Book Day books have been available in the library for the first time this year which has been a great success!
There are still books available for those who missed out.
This morning, we hosted a special breakfast for the students who were recognised for the Young Writers Award.
They enjoyed some lovely breakfast treats and were given a goody bag to celebrate their wonderful writing talents.
Staff have also joined in with the celebrations by dressing as their favourite book characters.
From Where’s Wally to Paddington Bear, everyone looked amazing and really embraced the joy of World Book Day! Some staff were even lucky enough to win a book!
Yesterday, students from our Peer Coaching Group were joined by pupils from St Andrew’s for a fun reading session.
The group acted out ‘I can read with my eyes shut’ by Dr Seuss with colourful masks and an interpretive reading of the story. They all worked brilliantly together, showing amazing creativity and collaboration.
It has been a really lovely week of celebrations for this year’s World Book Day!
