Iceland Science Trip 2026

The Wardle Science Department took 40 learners to Iceland to study sustainability.

Our learners gained an appreciation for the impacts of climate change as they scaled the Sólheimajökull Glacier and discovered how geothermal energy is harnessed at the Hellisheidi Power Plant and Friðheimar Greenhouse. On a boating excursion we even saw humpback whales!

The learners represented Wardle Academy with integrity and respect for Icelandic culture. It was an enriching and rewarding trip which we are sure they will always remember.
