Leading the Way
On Tuesday the 13th of July a group of our Year 10’s took part in a team building day at the Trafford Water Sports Centre, to develop communication and collaboration amongst the newly formed Student Leadership Team.
During the day the students devised and finalised their leadership roles for next year. The roles range from Student Media Developers to Pastoral Peer Mentors. After the roles were finalised students excelled in team building activities and performed fantastically in raft building and acid river.
Every student was a credit to themselves and the Academy. Additionally these students have completed the Ivy House Award which is a nationally recognised qualification that is used by multi-million pound businesses in their own organisations. The students took part in a number of Ivy House sessions and as a result have gained a wealth of experience and knowledge. They have been fantastic.
Mr Blackburn and Mr McCulloch have been so proud of their efforts in completing the course and now become our Student Leadership Team.
‘She thoroughly enjoyed completing the course and especially the session they did on team building. I want to thank the school for bringing some normality back to her life.’
