Oxbridge Scholars Workshop
Our students absolutely loved the trip to Hollingworth Academy, for the Oxbridge Scholars workshop, yesterday.
It was great to see them sharing ideas with other likeminded individuals from the borough, and especially heart-warming and inspirational to hear them discussing Oxford and Cambridge as a possible option in the future.
The students absolutely held their own during group discussions; we couldn’t have been prouder of our young people, who represented our school in an exemplary manner.
”A great experience that pushes people to be ambitious and an insight into what life would be like at an elite university.”
”I though that Megan (a current student at Oxford) was really inspiring and showed us that anyone can go to an elite university no matter your background or upbringing.”
”The workshop taught us that there are no limitations holding us back from an elite university, if we want to. I especially liked analysing the poetry which focused on viewing literature through a critical lens.”
”We were encouraged to consider life at a Russell Group university, studying advanced academic subjects. We were also shown how these experiences would benefit us and how ‘who we are’ should not stop us from achieving our full potential.”
