Students Attend Powerful Session on Knife Crime

Students Attend Powerful Session on Knife Crime

On Friday we were joined by No More Knives, an organisation dedicated to teaching young people about knife crime and empowering them to make positive choices.

Students listened to powerful personal stories about the impact of knife crime and an informative talk from Greater Manchester Police. The band Nxt Chapter also performed during the day which was a big hit with both students and teachers.

Councillor Janet Emsley, the Deputy Civic Mayor, attended the event and said it is ‘good to see young people engaging with messages about the tragic impact of knife crime.’

The discussions certainly had a positive impact on students with lots to take away from the day.

I learned a lot about forgiveness and how to make good decisions.

It showed us how to be part of the solution.

The session allowed students to have healthy and open conversations about the impact of knife crime on the community, family members and individuals. The event explored a hugely important topic in a really engaging, educational and entertaining way.

It helped open my eyes to the severity of knife crime.

It helped me gain a better understanding of the impact on family members.

Thank you No More Knives for speaking with our students and exploring such an important topic.
