Students Celebrate Aspire Day at Wardle Academy

Today, we celebrated Aspire Day where each year group focused on different life skills and explored a series of important topics. Year 7 went on a ‘Wellbeing Walk’ where they learnt about the importance of water safety, personal wellbeing and how to stay fit and healthy, both mentally and physically.

Year 8 students developed their knowledge of personal safety, whilst Year 9 learnt about hate crime and healthy communication. They were also visited by a local Police Constable who shared ways they can communicate positively. Students put this knowledge into practice through a team building exercise where they built stick towers, utilising their positive communication skills.

Year 10 students explored our Equalities Act through creative poetry. Year 11 students focused on life after leaving school by attending our Next Steps Careers Fair. They were able to speak to lots of local higher education providers to gain information about the different destinations on offer. Students then applied for their college places using the personal statements they have been working on during form time.

It was a great day of development, learning and reflection for all of our students!
