Students Write Epic Stories Inspired by The Odyssey
Year 7 have been studying Homer’s epic poem The Odyssey and practicing their descriptive writing skills in their English lessons.
Students have dived into the story of Odysseus, the King of Ithaca, as he embarks on an epic journey home to his wife Penelope after fighting in the Trojan War. They have drawn on the poem’s themes of homecoming, perseverance and vengeance to create some amazing pieces of descriptive writing.
