Summer School – AimHigher
A group of our Year 10 students have taken part in a virtual ‘Summer School’ run by ‘AimHigher’, an organisation that encourages students from the Greater Manchester area to consider University as an option for higher education. The students undertook various activities and took part in three lessons from post-graduate students currently studying for their Phd at The University of Manchester. The lessons included ‘Forensic Linguistics’, ‘Microbes and the Mind’ and a fascinating laboratory session on how engineering research is helping with the development of replacement human organs.
The students finished the Summer School with a lot more knowledge of University courses, lessons and even student finance. They produced their own “Zines” on what Higher education means to them. For more information and some images from the event please visit https://gmhigher.ac.uk/news/
