Wardle Academy Learner Scores a Dream Interview at Old Trafford
Wardle Academy’s very own Deagan recently had a once-in-a-lifetime experience, stepping into the world of professional rugby to interview top players at a Sky Sports and Betfred press conference at Old Trafford.
A huge rugby fan who lives and breathes the sport, Deagan was given this incredible opportunity through the collaboration of Manchester Children’s Hospital and local youth workers. He landed an exclusive press pass, allowing him to interview players from Wigan Warriors and Hull KR, including Wigan’s Brad O’Neil and Hull’s Dean Hadley, Mikey Lewis, and Elliot Minchella.
This was more than just a dream come true for Deagan, who plays both league and union and trains five days a week. It was also a massive step forward in his personal development. He admitted he was nervous about the interviews, but seeing how even professional athletes can get nervous helped him overcome his own anxiety. He completed his interview with confidence, and we couldn’t be prouder of his effort and dedication!
