Wardle’s WaterSHED Building Wins 2024 RIBA North West Award
Wardle Academy’s WaterSHED building has been awarded yet another architecture accolade.
The sports hall redevelopment project, designed and built by BDP, won a 2024 RIBA North West Award for its innovative and sustainable response to the increased demand in school places in Rochdale.
RIBA noted the use of ‘low-tech, low-cost and low-embodied-carbon materials’, creating a learning and social space which is both climate conscious and aesthetically pleasing.
BDP’s Global Head of Education, Sue Emms, said ‘it continues to feel like a great place to be, a great place to learn and gives all the pupils and staff at Wardle Academy something to be proud of.’
Take a look at the lovely space.
