Year 7 Student Celebrates Library Card Competition With the Mayor of Rochdale
Year 7 student Pippa was amongst just 8 runners up in Rochdale Borough Council’s ‘Design a Library Card’ competition. Pippa was tasked with designing a new library card inspired by how people feel when they visit a library and why more young people should visit.
The competition ran throughout all of the Rochdale borough libraries and received over 200 entries from children across the borough. Pippa’s design was selected to be in the top 10 entries along with 7 runners up and 2 winners.
Last week, Pippa attended an awards ceremony at Middleton Library to celebrate all of the wonderful designs. The Mayor of Rochdale and his Consort awarded Pippa with a certificate and book voucher.
