Young Health Champions
15 of our Year 9 students have successfully completed a 3-day course to qualify as Youth Health Champions. The course involves sporting and learning activities that create a Level 2 qualification and funding is provided by Greater Manchesters #BeeWell initiative to lead health campaigns at a school of choice.
The event was hosted at Littleborough Sports Centre and involved students from Wardle Academy and St Cuthbert’s RC High School.
What is the Young Health Champions Programme?
The Young Health Champions programme is a guided-learning programme which leads to a qualification; RSPH Level 2 Award for Young Health Champions. The programme is for young people between the ages of 14 – 24 who want to help their peers develop a healthier lifestyle and make their voice heard around health and wellbeing issues.
The qualification consists of 22 guided-learning hours and has the flexibility to be delivered in any educational setting.
