YTA – We won £500!
We are very proud of our Student Parliament ‘Department for Community and Health’ and Youth Travel Ambassadors who were successful in their bid to improve Active Travel and reduce congestion around school.
The students pitched their idea to Transport for Greater Manchester this morning and received 100% of the funding requested!
The initiative aims to improve safety and will see the group working with the council to prevent cars parking on double yellow lines and in bus lanes as well as educating parents with ‘parking tickets’.
A “no car zone” will increase safety and encourage students walk more.
Raffle tickets will be given to those that cycle into school (for a chance to win prizes) as well as a free breakfast initiative for those cycling or walking to school.
